Each of our support staff is uniquely qualified to assist clients and our attorneys. Ryan Alphin - Investigator - Mr. Alphin is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology. While at USC, he was on the Deans List and was a Life Scholar. Mr. Alphin has been with the Strom Law Firm since 2002. Mr. Alphin assists attorneys in all practice areas with his main focus being on criminal defense. He works closely with clients to insure the best possible resolution for each case. Denise Weltz - Senior Litigation Paralegal - Ms. Weltz graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. She also has a paralegal certificate from Midlands Technical College. Following graduation she worked with the Richland County Solicitor's Office and the South Carolina State Senate. Ms. Weltz has been with the Strom Law Firm L.L.C. since 1997 and assists attorneys with complex litigation, class actions, and criminal defense. Betty Cosby - Legal Assistant - Betty was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, where she attended business school. Following business school, Betty worked as a legal secretary for Charles Gibson, an attorney and member of the House of Representatives. From 1985 to 1991, Betty worked in the Legal Department at South Carolina National Bank. At SCN Bank, Betty served as the Administrative Assistant to three attorneys who handled corporate matters, credit card matters, and litigation for the bank. In 1991, Betty was appointed executive secretary to the Honorable L. Henry McKellar until 2002. She joined the Strom Law Firm, L.L.C. in August, 2002, and currently assists attorneys with complex litigation. April Fields - Legal Assistant - April Fields is a 2005 graduate of Columbia College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. While in college she was involved in numerous organizations including Student Government, South Carolina Student Legislature and the International Studies Association. As a White House Intern in the Office of Cabinet Affairs, her duties included compiling cabinet members schedules, drafting reports for senior staff and assisting with the government's response to natural disasters by coordinating efforts between the White House, FEMA and Congress. She assisted the office of US Senator Lindsey Graham by maintaining favorable constituent ratings. Following graduation, she worked for the Graniteville Plaintiffs Steering Committee by maintaining the class database and representing class counsel during inspections. At the Strom Law Firm she assist attorneys with all aspects of the practice including complex litigation, social security disability and criminal defense. Eliesha Guevara Nick - Legal Assistant - Mrs.Guevara-Nick is originally from West Palm Beach, Florida where she attended Palm Beach Junior College. Growing up in South Florida, she was active in the Hispanic Community and is fluent in both English and Spanish. She was also active with the post Hurricane Andrew Relief. Currently residing in South Carolina for the past seven years, she still maintains strong ties with the Hispanic Community by providing translating services and community volunteer work. Now a legal assistant at the Strom Law Firm, she assists attorneys in all areas of practice including criminal defense, complex litigation, and worker's compensation; however, her main focus of practice is immigration. Sarah Sutusky - Law Clerk - Ms. Sutusky is a law student at the University of South Carolina School of Law. She graduated cum laude from the College of Charleston in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. While at College of Charleston, Ms. Sutusky was a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and was named to the Dean’s List. She has also been involved with the Palmetto Girls State program as a counselor and government assistant since 2001. Ms. Sutusky began working at the Strom Law Firm after completing her first year of law school in May 2007. She assists attorneys with legal research. |
