Amanda E. Schlager was born in New Jersey but spent most of her life in Fort Myers, Florida. She attended Cornell University where she graduated with a degree in Psychology, with distinction in all subjects, and a concentration in Law and Society. She attended law school at Vanderbilt University where she was a Managing Editor of the Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment & Technology Law and the author of a published note titled, "Is the Suite Life Truly Sweet? The Property Rights Luxury Box Owners Actually Acquire." She won several awards for Best Oralist in multiple Moot Court competitions. During law school, Amanda clerked for United States District Court Judge Aleta A. Trauger in Nashville, Tennessee. She also clerked for the Nashville District Attorney's Office and the United States Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Tennessee in Nashville.
After law school, Amanda worked at a large law firm in Washington, D.C. where she specialized in False Claims Act/Qui Tam litigation, primarily relating to health care entities. She also has experience in cases involving government contracts, ERISA, antitrust, and class actions. She is a member of the Florida Bar Association, the D.C. Bar Association, the Women's Bar Association of the District of Columbia, and the American Bar Association. She is also a member of Phi Alpha Delta, a national legal fraternity. Presently, Amanda serves as Managing Counsel for a number of consumer rights class action cases involving Pay Day Lenders and Title Loan Lenders.
